LE MAGAZINEWing Foil under the Fuerteventura sun
To fly over the swell in a Wing Foil in the sun when it’s grey at home, Fuerteventura will be the perfect destination. This island in the Canary Islands (nicknamed the Hawaii of the Atlantic) is the perfect combination of turquoise waters, heat and wind. The desert landscapes, the dunes as far as the eye can see, the breathtaking beaches, the small fishing villages, provide a real feeling of change of scenery. Lulled by the wind and waves, you can sail in a Wing Foil in a mild climate, all year round. Paradise, without the need to cross the Atlantic.
At first glance, this destination seems to welcome mass tourism, but the north of the island has been able to protect itself from it. You will discover traditional and authentic villages, where it is good to stroll after your session. There are unspoilt beaches, far from seaside resorts, but also lunar and volcanic landscapes. Nature is so diverse, we assure you a total feeling of escape.
Fuerteventura: favourable conditions for Wing Foil
The island of Fuerteventura is a good place to live because of the mild climate, with omnipresent sunshine and the breath of the trade winds coming from the north-east of the Canary Islands. All the conditions are therefore met for board sports. The wind blows all year round and the temperatures are pleasant, both summer and winter. These range from 22°C to 31°C in air and from 18°C to 23°C in water. One of our favourite playgrounds for Wing Foil, Surf Foil or Kitesurfing !
In addition, it is an accessible destination, both in terms of the duration and the cost of the trip. You will find direct flights from the mainland at an affordable price depending on the season. Once there, the cost of living is relatively cheap.
